Monday January 3rd - Jackson Interfaith Shelter - 414 S. Blackstone St. Jackson
7:00 This show will be part of the "Gimme Shelter" Concert series that Mike Kavanaugh has put together to bennefit the shelter. Since it will be a concert format I'll be performing many of my own songs along with some that don't usually fit into my regular shows that are among my favorite so it will be a very special evening. I'm glad to be a part of the series and can't think of a better way to kick off the new year. This turned out to be exactly the special kind of evening that I hoped it would with several pleasant surprises. I shared the bill with Bruce Park Jr. and Chris Gannon who did a lot of great blues tunes some of their own songs and some great covers. We traded set of about 6 songs back and forth and everybody had a blast. The audience was just super and gave a great reception to our original songs as well as the covers. I got to perform "Coat of Many Colors" "Three Wooden Crosses" "Casey's Last Ride" and "No Surrender" which I don't seem to be able to fit into my regular shows often enough. We closed out the evening by having Bruce and Chris join me in an impromptu rendition of "This Land Is Your Land" that got the whole room singing along. All in all it was a very special evening.Saturday January 8th - Suburban Lanes Entertainment Complex - 3801 Ann Arbor Rd. Jackson 8 - 11 p.m. Oh man that was fun! I got a chance to debut a few new songs and pull off a couple that I haven't played in a long time for a very fun and friendly crowd.
